RAIL

  • NR has gifted Reedham Junction SB to the North Norfolk Railway.
  • Newtonhill SB closed on 27 April 2019 with control passing to Aberdeen.
5 June 2019
  • Bowesfield and Urlay Nook SBs have been decommissioned with control transferring to York.
  • Trent Power Box opened 50 years ago.
  • Reedham Junction SB closed 1.4.19
  • All infrastructure work has been completed for the Bristol area signalling upgrade. Testing will take place in June and July 2019 with control eventually passing to Didcot.
22 May 2019
  • Movements between the Strathspey Railway and the main line at Aviemore are controlled by new semaphore signals.
8 May 2019
  • The first phase of Aberdeen to Stonehaven resignalling has been completed.
  • NR has awarded GBP750M of framework contracts for the period 2019-2024.
  • During weekend partial closures of Kings Cross, NR will begin transferring control to York ROC and will remove old cables from the east bore of Gasworks Tunnel.
