This sturdy-looking overhead signal box controls the large terminal station in the city of Barcelona, and is viewed here from the station platforms. Notice the large clock provided on the box roof to assist punctual departures.

Close examination reveals that the signals are of the three-position upper quadrant type.

Despite the immense size of the box, only a small portion of it is taken up by the signalling equipment. The power frame was built by Thomson-Houston and has the miniature levers arranged in two rows.

The illuminated diagram shows the extensive layout at this major terminus.
