Most of the signal boxes on the Cardiff Railway main line appeared around 1909, although there was some earlier signalling within in the docks network.
No boxes other than standard examples constructed by McKenzie & Holland are known of on the Cardiff Railway network.
The Cardiff Railway passed to the Great Western Railway with the grouping in 1923.
