It would appear that the Hold Coil(s) on my Banner Repeater are open circuit. So it can’t get it up and when it is up, it won’t stay there. This either means I need a dose of viagra for my banner repeater or new coils or to rewind the current coils. The latter is the most logical (but the hardest), so I was wondering if anyone had the technical details of the coils used in the banner repeater? There are 4 coils in total wound on two armatures. Any help you can offer will be much appreciated.

    Cheers

I have a photo which shows the circuit details of the banner repeater we have at St Albans South, the main coils were 20+20 ohms and the hold coils 580+580 ohms – connections are in series. It’s possible that the problem may lie in dirty contacts on the switch which alters from the operating to the holding coils.

Don’t have the photo on a public location, but would happily send you a copy if you PM me with an e-mail address I can send it to.
